Why Juventus Cannot Sign Victor Osimhen Despite Strong Interest

Aug 04, 2026 0 Comments

Victor Osimhen continues to attract attention in the transfer market, but Juventus remain unable to make a move for the Nigerian striker despite their long-standing admiration for him.

The Turin giants have been linked with Osimhen on several occasions, and with reports suggesting Galatasaray are willing to consider offers in the region of €70 million, many believed the transfer could finally become a reality.

However, the biggest obstacle has nothing to do with the transfer fee or Juventus' financial capability.

Contract Clause Prevents Direct Transfer

According to reports from Italy, a contractual clause included in the agreement that brought Osimhen to Galatasaray effectively blocks a direct transfer to Juventus.

The clause reportedly imposes a financial penalty on the Turkish champions if they sell the Super Eagles striker directly to the Bianconeri.

As a result, even if Juventus are prepared to meet Galatasaray's asking price, completing the deal under the current terms would prove extremely difficult.

Spalletti Reunion Fuels Speculation

Interest in Osimhen has been strengthened by the presence of Luciano Spalletti, who is now in charge of Juventus.

The Italian tactician enjoyed enormous success with the Nigerian during their time together at Napoli, where Osimhen played a leading role in ending the club's long wait for the Serie A title.

Many believe the pair could recreate that successful partnership in Turin, making Osimhen an ideal replacement if Juventus decide to move on from Dusan Vlahovic.

Despite the appeal of such a reunion, the contractual restrictions currently stand in the way of any negotiations.

Alternative Transfer Route Looks Unlikely

Theoretically, Juventus could still sign Osimhen if he first completed a transfer to another club before eventually moving to Turin in a separate deal.

However, such a complicated arrangement would involve multiple negotiations, additional costs, and significant uncertainty, making it an unlikely solution during the current transfer window. For that reason, Juventus are not expected to pursue that option unless circumstances change dramatically.

Juventus Turn Attention Elsewhere

With the contractual clause effectively ruling out a straightforward transfer, Juventus are likely to shift their focus toward other attacking reinforcements.

While Osimhen remains one of Europe's most sought-after forwards, the legal restrictions surrounding his transfer make a move to Turin almost impossible at this stage.

Unless the agreement between Galatasaray and the player is altered or the reported clause is removed, Juventus will have to watch from a distance as the Nigerian international's future continues to generate speculation.

For now, despite having the financial resources and genuine interest, Victor Osimhen appears destined to remain beyond Juventus' reach.
